About this objectSeveral types of this planter have been developed. Corn was one of the main type of seed sown with this impliment which can be traced back a century of years. They were popular in small and difficult areas of land. The lower steel blade is ''jabbed'' into the soil and when the handle was moved, the seed fell into the groove in the soil from the Grain box. When the blade was
withdrawn the seed was then covered.
Given to me by the late Mr. Taylor who lived a few miles along the Orange - Manildra road from Manildra. He believed that it had been used by family members as far bacik as 1890. I understand that his son is still owner
of the property.
