A fitted wooden box with two metal hinges with a metal swinging hook closure in recesses at either end.
The instrument consists of a plunger, insertion tube, light attachment, lens and cable.
The plunger is stainless steel with a thin solid cylindrical shaft, a solid oval shaped tip and a circular doughnut shaped handle.
The insertion tube is a hollow stainless steel cylindrical tube, it is calibrated in cms up to 30cm, it is numerically marked at intervals of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25.
It has a raised end with a cross hatched edge, stamped with 'Boots Australia' and 'S 3555'.
The light attachment is a short hollow stainless steel cylinder which plugs into end of insertion tube. It has a thin metal screw-in bulb and a protruding one prong plug, it is stamped 'Boots Australia' 'Lamp' 'ED.52'.
The lens is circular, made of dull metal with a stainless steel protruding hollow cylindrical arrow shaped grip, this fits into the light attachment.
The cord is 1.97 metres long with a one-pin socket at one end and two pins on separate wires at other end.
Cord has grey plastic cover.
The socket is stamped 'Endoscopic London'.
There is a white plastic rectangular box with a clear perspex sliding lid containing 4 spare bulbs (this box is 7 x 4 x 1.5).
There are 2 small paper stickers on the wooden box with numbers printed on them.
One has '7250s' and the other '051'.
