British Model 1845 Infantry Officers Sword (has slight curve) fitted with Gothic Hilt featuring a New South Wales State Arms Badge. The Brass Gothic Hilt and wire twists over black sharks skin (now grey/white) handle 18k yellow gold gilt.
Blade is believed to be from E. Thurkle, London as the blade plug within the star has Proved with T in centre of blade Plug. It is believed to have been produced at their works 1860-1897: Edward Thurkle of London. Other example in AWM Collection is Circa 1870.
The Blade also featured the NSW State Badge etched to the blade below the Crown of Queen Victoria.
The blade is encased in a nickel plated metal scabbard with two rings.
