Millthorpe

Millthorpe history dates from 1861.  Originally named Spring Grove, the town was renamed in 1884 due to the establishment of the Great Western Flour The railway reached the area in the 1876.

Millthorpe is classified by the National Trust as a historically important colonial village and has a number of fine colonial style historic buildings. Some of the streets retain the original bluestone gutters.

$8.00 per adult, $5,00 per child, $20.00 per family (2 adults and 2 children)

Please note that except for school and public holidays the museum is manned only at weekends so some delays may occur in replying to your phone or email inquiry. Family history inquiries are charged at a basic fee of $25 then depending on the time spent, $10 each hour after.

You will experience exhibitions that bring to life the rich social, agricultural and mining history of the surrounding district.  See the hundreds of photos and family histories and the large collections of fascinating local objects.

Recently installed and paying respect to Wiradjuri peoples is the only regional Wiradjuri Tribal Relic and History display in the central west.

The St Joshep,s interactive schoolroom, features the only  replica of the early Black Joshepites Habit adopted by Mary Mc Killop  that is on public exhibition in Australia  …
